Getting married is one of the happiest moments that can happen in your life. Unfortunately, it can cost you an arm and a leg. Not to mention the honeymoon! But the bride and groom need not worry about it because there are budget destinations that won’t break the bank. Here are not-so-usual travel destinations for your honeymoon that are very affordable.
Bhutan
Bhutan is a small country in Asia and yet they are the only carbon negative country in the whole world. Surrounded by India, Tibet, and China, it is located in the Eastern Himalayas. For nature lovers, Bhutan is a dream destination because of the serenity and tranquility it offers its visitors.
Spring is the best time to visit the country where you will be surrounded and entranced by nature’s beauty. Take a trek to Dochu La and visit the Takstang Monastery and the Tiger’s Nest Monastery while enjoying the view of the Himalayan mountain ranges. Or you can go to Phobjikha and Lheunste to enjoy the vast flora and fauna that Bhutan offers. You can spot wild animals at the Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park. Don’t forget to drop by Thimpu, the country’s capital, to get a feel of the culture and lifestyle of the Bhutanese. Enjoy shopping at the market and see famous landmarks and museums in the city.
A 7D/6N stay, in spring, at a hotel in Paro starts at USD 240. There are limited flights to and fro Bhutan. You have to fly in via Singapore, India, Nepal or Bangladesh.
